Ghosts A'Fire
In 1961, an accidental fire broke out near in a coal mining
since. Scientists estimate that there is enough fuel This
tragedy was left at the hands of City officials, who to avoid
paying $60,000 to stop the fire's chain reaction, chanced to
wait and see if the fire would burn itself out. Soon, officials
realized their folly and chose to erase its existence.
Centralia, once the center of the most lucrative mining town
and birth place to the infamous Molly Maguires, can no
longer be found on a map. The zip code has been revoked.
Even the highway leading in has been allowed to collapse -
eventually to be inaccessible by car. Families gradually
moved away due to the toxic gases being released into
their once wide-open skies. What was once home to
thousands of hard-working families, is now nothing more
than a haunting memory.
The eerie silence is almost deafening. Nothing but 6 homes
stand with the rest laying in brittle broken foundations. You
may catch glimpse of a man riding around in a hearse who
attempts at scaring off vandals from his isolated home. In
the distance, high above the deadened tree-lined hills
stands a majestic Russian Orthodox church. The sun
glistens off the billowy golden turrets and triple crosses.
This is the hope that lingers behind this disgrace of a
Government gone wrong. Hidden behind pockets of dying
trees and overgrown fields lies collapsing cemeteries.
These souls have been left behind to burn. There was no
relocation plan for them. These are the GHOSTS A'FIRE.
In 2007, Niki Snowfire (case manager for Lights Out
Paranormal Investigations) stumbled across a website that
told of a town that was perpetually burning. The photos and
short films were haunting. Niki brought this to my attention.
When I began reading up on it, the story drew me in.
Centralia was the actual inspiration for the horror movie,
"Silent Hill". As a medium, I felt drawn to the souls left
behind. Layers of history were now engulfed in a grave of
flames - all sentenced to nothing but a future among ashes.
To this day, I think back on my first experience. I
summonsed the spirits, calling upon them to use me to
speak for them. I asked them quite simply if they desired
my help. Unlike decades of the living who abandoned their
memory, I would not leave their legacy to be incinerated. I
felt spiritually moved by the astral voices I heard. I had to go
there to see it for myself. For the next two years, Niki would
do extensive research on the rich layers of history that once
existed among the wealthiest mining town in the entire
country. Founder Shannon or South Jersey Ghost Trackers
was also a key assistant in researching for paranormal
investigations and the like. Hundreds of stories arose from
the ashes about haunting from modern-time cemeteries, as
well as the sufferings of the coal miners who lost their lives
in order to build the fortune for prominent business men. I
personally chose not to read or listen to anything, other than
the safety factors for us to carry out an investigation. I
wanted to go in blind to the knowledge of these celestial
residents. I knew they were there, but wanted to awaken the
world once more to their existence through scientific
documentation.
In August 2009, we set out for the 5 1/2 hour drive from
Boston, meeting up with top-notch paranormal researchers.
With us was Lights Out Paranormal Investigations,
APG/ECP (A Paranormal Group - Erie County PA), New
England Spirit Seekers, South Jersey Ghost Trackers,
South Philly Paranormal Society, CC Carol The Huntress of
NH, and CC Carol Film Productions. From the moment we
arrived, bizarre things began to occur. Due to last minute
odd and unavoidable circumstances, we unfortunately lost a
few of our investigators. We carried on though, driving off
into the sunset to what would change our lives forever.
In November 2009, we returned compellingly. I swear we all
felt beckoned by the spirits and myself, drawn to once again
speaking for those souls who cannot rest. This time, we
conducted investigation at an official Molly Maguire
hangout, The Wooden Keg Tavern (see link on left). I was able
to trans-channel a townie gal that shed light on what life had
once been like amidst a corrupt era that would give birth to
the Worker's Union.
Ghosts A'fire is my upcoming documentary to be released
on St. Patrick's Day 2010. I have painstakingly put together
a production that will hopefully awaken America to an
injustice that has been done to the memory of hard working
men and women who acted as part of the foundation for our
country to be built upon. Along with the assistance from an
amazing film crew and outstanding investigators, we
anticipate the documentary to be aired on National
Television (TBA). DVD's will be available. I hope to
captivate our finding in Central more in depth in my
upcoming book version, along with CD of incredible EVP's
and my channeling experiences.
